Rafting , Kayaking and Canoeing

Bulgaria offers a great variety of thrilling rivers, which in the spring and early summer are suitable for white-water kayaking. Besides that there are several wonderful lakes in the southern part of Bulgaria – in the Rhodopes – where you can take a canoe or kayak tour in a beautiful landscape! And if that’s not enough the great variety on the Bulgarian coast almost invites you for a sea kayak tour.

If you think white-water kayaking is to big a mouthful for you there are still lots of opportunities – we can offer canoe and kayak touring in areas of natural beauty or how about a trip along the beautiful and varied coastline of Bulgaria!
What is rafting?
River descent with  inflatable boats.
The crew consists  of 6-8 paddlers  and one professional  river guide.
Where can I do rafting?
The Struma, Arda and Ossam rivers are especially suitable for the enthusiast in springtime once the mountain snows higher up have melted, and the Stackevska river in the Vratza mountain offers all the thrills and spills of wild water rafting. The river Danube is excellent for canoeing and kayaking.
When can I do rafting?
Rafting usually takes place in Bulgaria between  May to October, though in some rivers you can enjoy rafting throughout the year.
Participation Requirements
In order to participate in a descent you have to start from rafting in rivers of 1st and 2nd grade of difficulty. You can then gradually continue to more difficult descents of 3rd-4th degree of difficulty. You must know how to swim and be in good physical condition.
What do I need to carry with me?
What you need to have with you is a pair of shoes that will get wet, a swimming suit, a t-shirt and a towel.
Necessary Equipment
A neoprene suit and pair of socks, windproof jacket, helmet, life jacket and a paddle.
